Artists statement

The articulation, color scheme and ornamental structures of the staggered surfaces are intended to create the impression of a depth dimension and make the construction walkable. The "walking" is based on the idea of a simple mechanical apparatus. Rising and falling forms within the ornamental bands around a center of disk or wheel are meant to attract the eye like something flashing. Viewing it might trigger a mechanism that moves the wheel and the lever of the crisscrossing ribbons to the next position; shifting the backdrops and rearranging them into a new arrangement. 
In the process, an imagined noise, perhaps even a sound, belonging to the image, to a special composition, emerges for me.
